Bio//
Weronika Siewierska earned a PhD in piano from the Krakow Academy of Music in Poland. Weronika was born in Brasília, Brazil, she began piano lessons at the age of five, initially with her mother. During her school years, she attended classes with renowned professors such as Jerzy Łukowicz, Luiz Medalha, Beatriz de Freitas Salles, Maria de Los Angeles, Alda de Mattos, and Andrzej Pikul.
She entered the Institute of Arts at the University of Brasília in 2007. A year later she began her piano at the Kraków Academy of Music in the piano class of Prof. Andrzej Pikul. She received a B.A. in 2011 and a Master’s Degree in the piano class of Prof. Milena Kędra in 2013. In 2020 she earned her Ph.D. at the Kraków Academy where she did research on the interpretation of Heitor Villa-Lobos’s œuvre for piano.
She has also participated in numerous master classes in Poland and other European countries with distinguished professors such as Andrzej Jasiński, Lee Kum-Sing, Pascal Devoyon, Edith Murano, and Roberto Russo. In 2011, she was awarded third prize at the 21st “Roma” International Piano Competition in Rome.
She has performed widely in cities such as Warsaw, Kraków, Apeldoorn, Loro Ciufenna, Brasília, and Lublin. Her repertoire includes the works of Maurice Ravel, Alexander Scriabin, Frédéric Chopin, Ignacy Paderewski, Karol Szymanowski, and Heitor Villa-Lobos, among others. She also works as a piano teacher in a music school.
